ABOUT RAPHAEL PEREZ |
|
The artist,
Raphael Perez, was born in 1965 and was raised in
Jerusalem. He currently resides and works in
Tel-Aviv. He is a graduate of the Jerusalem school
of Visual Arts where he studied from 1988 through
1992 and where many of his acryllic, oil, laminated
wood pieces and drawings can be found. |
|
In each painting there is an evident
contrast between shade and light. The color red is
central to his paintings and consistently symbolizes
masculinity, passion and dominance. Within each gallery,
one can find a short paragraph of information regarding
that particlular gallery... |

Ben Rotman - People |
|
Ben Rotman deals with
the medium of painting in broad terms For Rotman who always
worked in oils, using the digital workspace changes
almost everything save the final appearance of his work. |
|
Rotman's digital creations present a
virtual space with the same fluidity and tactility as
oilrcolor paint. An intimacy with digital tools allows
Rotman to emulate the deckled edges, bleeding, and the
layering sensations of traditional oilrcolor, all with
an illusionist bent. |

habib slimani |
|
The
exhibition we present to you was created after thorough
sorting and in-depth observation of Habibs work, in
order to find a common theme for all of the artwork you
see. Since our connection with Habib is so discontinuous
we can't know for certain his thoughts and feelings in
making this artworks. |
|
We
asked his permission to have a free hand in collecting
this exhibition, combining his thoughts with the feelings
they inspired in us. This blending formed the basis for
creating the exhibition. |
|
Habib,
was born in Algiers and is married and the father of
two girls, Habibwrites poetry in Arabic, English and
French. He is a photographer, painter and graphic

Mask Carnival |
|
We are all players on the world's stage.
Changing identities. Changing roles.
|
|
The disguise and the mask are an integral part of our lives.
The transition between roles often happens almost unconsciously. |

The Map |
|
This project has been inspired by city maps. |
|
The magic of the map is by linking man to a
place, a view and to a particular space.
This makes the map resemble a painitng. |

"My way of
expression is related to my life biography.
I grew up in the
wide-open spaces of the kibbutz, located
between the Carmel Mountains and the sea. |
|
The subjects of
my work are mostly portraits, landscapes and
still life – though, full of life; revealed
to those with high sensitivity. I am
involved with observation of the world and
its people – they have always held my deep
interest; not as a reflection of the
obvious, but more the aspects hidden between
the lines, the wrinkles, the small flaws –
where time and circumstances have left their
mark. |

Ronny Mayan - Portrait
|
|
There are times when a subject presents itself as if asking to
be photographed, the light accentuates the subject outlines in a
unique way, sometimes an interplay of light and shadow, or a
beautiful interesting transparency grab my attention. |
|
Sometimes lack of hues or deep shadow reveals a new angle. Light
and shadow interplay lead my attention to a subject. Some
subjects that I shoot , just occur on the way or in my
immediate surroundings. |

The Communistic regime was
based on industry and proletariat. After the communism fall
there were testimonies to the way of life of the proletariat
and the industrial buildings that were the symbol of pride to
the Communistic regime and to the people. |
|
When you enter these
abandoned industrial buildings you discover all that was left
behind and you get the feeling that one day the bell will ring
again and all the workers will go on the break they never came
back from. |

Ofira oriel- intuitive
painting |
|
The intuitive painting
brings us together with our internal world. It deals with free
creativity with no criticism and judgment. |
|
The creative process
introduces oneself with his emotions, thoughts and imagination.
The creation expresses all of that. The intuitive painting is
all about the connection between awareness, and self observing. |

Lilach Yafim- transparency |
|
Transparencies/slides are moist silk sheets used for
drawing using special colors for silk. |
|
There is something about free painting on silk which is
in the nature of revelation. Each additional level of
paint exposes more details of the piece. Small
embroidered areas are aimed at emphasizing objects in
the piece. |

Oil on fabric painting, connecting between the
geometric abstract and the defined and clear

Connecting the extremes – between east and west,
between modernism and traditional, between the
